JCK and JCH_Optimize Plugin 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I use jch optimize on my website and for working with editor i must settle "Combine JavaScript Files" to no.

But i lose a lot of speed!

I can exclude javascript file in jch optimise, i make a lot of test but i don't find the name of the javascript file who block the editor, it's not "ckeditor.js".

If somebody find a solution?

Thank's

Hi boboal2

This issue is not related to the editor but due to the javascript errors caused by this system plugin. infact out of the box if you plan to do any editing in the front end this plugin will cause Joomla to fail.

The details of the issue is the fact that by default the plugin is set to add the combined javascript after the last script tag. Well the loading of Joomla is time dependant so foe example the script for defining mooltools needs to be loaded in first before anythng tries using it! This is not the case with the default setup of this plugin.

However, this plugin does allow you to change the order in where the combined script loads in. So ypu need to set it to load after the first script tag as below

Hi boboal2,

We have tested the plugin downloaded today with Joomla 1.7 and the steps mentioned here stoped the mooltools jS error that was being caused that stopped everything else from working.

The issue caused here was not specific to the editor. So I suggest if you are not using the latest version of the plugin that you upgrade the system plugin to a later version if one is available to see if that will resolve the issue.

Also because we did not build that plugin will not be able to help further as we did not build the code. I would suggest that you go to the developers of that plugin to see if they can resolve your issue as this is a result of Joomla scripts not being loaded in the right order.

kindest Regards

Hi awills,

I use joomla 1.5.25, i think if i can find how to exclude jck and plugin or the javascript file because the problem is with "Combine JavaScript Files", it's will be ok.
I find easily how to exclude other component but jck no.

There may be, here, other users of jch optimize who finds the solution, but i will aslo ask to the devellopper of the plugin.

Thank's

Hi boboal2 we also tested JCH Optimize 1.3.4 with joomla 1.5 and doing the above steps worked for us.

So please ensure that you are using version 1.3.4 of the plugin and please ensure that the option "Postion conbined javascript" is set to "First found javascript tag" and NOT "Last found javascript tag"
