JoomlaFCK editor 2.6.3.9b (Chonga) - We have taken steps to help! PDF Print E-mail

With the release of Joomla 1.5.8 many users complained about their content being deleted. Naturally this may have happened when using our editor and so understandable some frustration was directed towards us. Part of the dilemma was the untimely released of Joomla 1.5.8 (with the enforced default filtering choice) around the same time as we released the Acajoom Edition of the JoomlaFCK editor. If you are anything like me, you most likely downloaded the latest version of Joomla without reading the ChangeLogs, so it was easy to sympathise with the frustration experienced by some users.

Therefore we delayed the official mail out of version 2.6.3.9 (the Acajoom Edition) until now, and have taken steps to assist our users through the changes made in the latest release of Joomla. We contacted the Joomla team and kindly made them aware the problems caused by the enforced default filtering system and have recently learned that the next release (version 1.5.9) will see Super administrator exempt from the filtering system!

All this means that version 2.6.3.9b is a Christmas troubleshooting release with the welcomed ability to sort your file permissions, cache problems and goes further in setting up your filtering system in a way that your content doesn’t get deleted.

A while back a member of the Acajoom team visited us with regards to a support related query. After a resolve was made, there was some interesting dialogue about using the editor in a way that could carry template style across to user’s mail clients.

We believed we had an answer and asked if some sort of collaboration might be possible. After welcoming our proposition, we set about creating a Newsletter Mode for the JoomlaFCK editor.

Since the project was launched our aspiration has been to fund the project via a donation model but due to its growing popularity and the limited contribution received; we’ve needed to rethink the non-commercial model a little!

Change can mean improvement, so instead of making the editor a commercial commodity we decide to improve our service by offering professional SUPPORT and downloads on a subscription bases. The subscription applies for the new support section on our forums and will grant you access to any preleased versions, bugs & fixes.

So if you are a commercial user and need a support model that will offer yourself and your client’s peace of mind,  then we hope this new additions will be a welcomed relief!
