Did you know that the JoomlaFCK editor is the fastest WYSIWYG editor for Joomla!? Many of our users have commented on its speed so we decided to put it to the test and give the editors on extensions.joomla.org a sport day race.

We placed all the editors in the same environment and used the Firefox Load Time Analyzer to test the page load time. After we tested each editor we removed the temporary Internet files before the Load Time Analyzer tested the next editor. Before the trials began we tested the page load-time (without the editors) which came to 2294ms on a fresh installation of Joomla! 1.5.3. To our amazement we discovered the JoomlaFCK editor loaded in just 4416ms with the added page load!

We subtracted our page load time of 2294ms from 4416ms and learned that the editor loaded in just 2122ms making it a 1/3 faster than JCE and twice as fast as the TinyMCE2.0 editor.
